Versal initials in burnished gold on a ground of blue and burgundy with white tracery and with beautiful decoration extending into the margin. Two-line initial "I" in gold leaf opens Psalm 126, "In convertendo...." Verse 3 on verso reads, "Magnificavit dominus..." (The Lord hath done great things for us...). Size: 152 x 116 mm. manuscript on vellum. Latin text written in a gothic hand in dark brown ink. Ruling in red. Versal initials in liquid gold on a ground of blue or rust with gold tracery. Line-endings of the same decoration. The text is taken from Psalm 51: 10-21. Initial “C” opens the text “Cor mundum crea…” (Create in me a clean heart….) Size: 105 x 72 mm. (Matted 10 x 8 in.) M4263 Leaf from a Printed Book of Hours, printed by Hardouyn. Versal initials done by hand in gold on a ground of blue or rust. Line-endings also in tempera and liquid gold. The page begins with most of Psalm 63. Two-line initial "D" opens Psalm 67, "Deus misereatur..." (God be merciful to us and bless us....) Size: 188 x 115 mm. (Matted 14 x 11 in.)
