One-quarter panel border of leaves, flowers, and fronds in tempera and gold on ivy vines. Versal initials in gold leaf on a ground of blue and burgundy with white tracery. Line-endings in the same decoration. The text includes the hymn, "Ave maris stella...." Size: 158 x 104 mm. (Matted 10 x 8 in.)
Latin text written a lettre batarde script, in brown ink with ruling
and rubrics in red. One-quarter border of gold leaves with fruit and
flowers in tempera on ivy vines. Two-line initials in liquid gold on
a ground of blue or rust infilled with gold flowers. One-quarter panel
border of leaves, flowers, and fronds in various colors of tempera with
liquid gold. Two-line initial "B" begins the text from Luke Size: 158 x 104 mm. (Matted 10 x 8 in.)
